Senior Director of Legal & Compliance with Mazooma, a fintech company providing payment solutions for online gambling operators across the globe.
Previously, I was an Associate Lawyer in the Toronto office of the international law firm Dickinson Wright, providing strategic legal advice to clients in highly regulated industries. My practice primarily focused on advising clients involved in land-based and online gambling of the requirements related to licensing, compliance and governance, and risk mitigation.
I am a published author of the Canada chapter for LexisNexis’ Gaming Law and Practice Book, Chambers and Partners’ Gaming, Gambling and Licensing Practice Guide for Canada, and various articles in gaming publications. I am also an adjunct professor with the University of New Hampshire, teaching its Global Regulation of Sports Betting Course under their Sports Wagering and Integrity Certificate Program. I speak at various conferences worldwide and have provided commentary to media outlets such as The Globe and Mail and the National Post, on the potential legalization of single-event sports betting in Canada.
